5/7/1907	The First Electric Tramway service commenced in Bombay (Mumbai). This service was inaugurated by Municipality Chairman Vallabhdas Thakersey and Municipal Commissioner Sheppard at 5.30 p.m. This tram was well decorated and destined from Municipal Office upto Crawford Market.

3/21/1966	Indian Remote Sensing Satellite (IRS-P3) placed into polar orbit. This carries remote sensing payload and an X-ray astronomy payload. Launched by third developmental flight of India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-D3) which is for launching 1,000-1,200 kg class of remote sensing satellites into polar sun-synchronous orbit. Still in service.
9/27/1977	Sanjiva Reddy was elected Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Government revokes the external emergency promulgated on December 3, 1971.
8/13/1993	Rama Rao vows not to return to the house unless the government is ousted.
5/24/1990	Surjit Singh Barnala sworn in as Governor of Tamil Nadu.
12/12/1965	Vijayanta, first India-made millitary tank which was handed over to the Army, was manufactured at Avadi Heavy Vehicles Factory at Madras.
4/30/1977	Nine Congress-ruled states placed under President's rule. Janata Party formed.
