10/24/1934Admiral Dom Vasco-da-Gama (c.1469-1524)-I, Portuguese navigator, arrived in India. He sailed around the Cape of Good Hope to Calicut, Kerala with three vessels and was the first Westerner to sail to India from Europe.
3/16/1999Amarjeet Kaypee of Haryana, during an innings of 148 against Madhya Pradesh in the super-league match at Rajnandgaon, overtook Ashok Malhotra's 7,274 runs and became the highest run-getter in Ranji Trophy.
