Historical Event on 6/5/1984
Operation 'Blue Star' was launched by Indira Gandhi. Indian commandos stormed into Sikh's holiest gurudwara Golden Temple in Amritsar to flush out the terrorists and other anti-government elements. Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and over 325 people were killed in the temple. Thus a great rebel arose all over the nation and specially in Punjab.

3/25/1997	Justice Jagdish Saran Verma sworn in Chief Justice of India.
12/25/1936	Ismail Merchant, producer (Householder), was born in Bombay, India.
3/21/1966	Indian Remote Sensing Satellite (IRS-P3) placed into polar orbit. This carries remote sensing payload and an X-ray astronomy payload. Launched by third developmental flight of India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-D3) which is for launching 1,000-1,200 kg class of remote sensing satellites into polar sun-synchronous orbit. Still in service.
7/12/1960	Ranchi University was established.
3/27/1997	Punjab men and Railway women win National volleyball league in Tiruppur.
